Pearlescent Ammonite Fossil | No. 2

A beautiful pearlescent Ammonite fossil, weighing approximately 56g and measuring around 6cm.

This polished fossil has a gorgeous warm honey and golden-brown colouring, with the Ammonite’s distinctive spiral structure beautifully preserved throughout. Look closely and you can see intricate darker chamber patterns around the centre, creating almost fern-like details against the softer translucent areas of the shell.

One of the loveliest features of this piece is the subtle pearlescent and fiery iridescence visible within the fossil. Small flashes of warm orange and red appear around the preserved chambers as the Ammonite moves through the light, giving this ancient specimen an unexpected little shimmer.

Both sides have been polished, revealing different sections of the fossilised shell while leaving some of its natural outer texture and matrix visible around the edges. The combination of smooth polished areas, ancient chamber patterns and natural imperfections gives it plenty to discover from every angle.
