Large Velvet Malachite Specimen

A seriously impressive large Velvet Malachite specimen, weighing approximately 770g and measuring around 12cm. This is one of those pieces that deserves to be displayed where you can properly appreciate it, with an incredible combination of velvety botryoidal formations and classic Malachite banding.

The front is dominated by rich forest and emerald green rounded Velvet Malachite formations, giving the surface an almost soft, suede-like appearance. Around the natural edges, polished-looking sections of Malachite reveal those unmistakable concentric bands in multiple shades of green.

Turn the specimen around and its raw mineral character is completely exposed, with textured green mineralisation across an earthy matrix and further pockets of beautiful Malachite banding. At 770g, it has fantastic presence and makes a striking statement specimen for a crystal display or collector's shelf.

Velvet Malachite

Velvet Malachite refers to Malachite that develops a fine, densely textured surface, often across rounded or botryoidal formations. Combined with the banded areas visible throughout this piece, it creates a specimen with dramatically different textures depending on the angle from which it is viewed.
