Large Benz Calcite Crystal Cluster

A seriously interesting large Benz Calcite crystal cluster, covered in chunky geometric Calcite formations with an unusual muted grey, silver and earthy bronze colouring.

The front of this specimen is packed with overlapping rhombohedral Calcite crystals, creating an almost armour-like surface of angular formations. Under the light, the crystal faces shift between smoky grey, silvery tones and warm bronze, with smaller sparkling mineralisation visible around the matrix.

Turn the piece over and you get a completely different view, revealing the natural pale crystalline matrix beneath with soft white, translucent and rusty mineral tones. At approximately 173g and 8cm, it is a wonderfully unusual raw specimen with plenty of texture and character for a mineral collection.
