About the Mineral

Moss Agate is a variety of chalcedony, a microcrystalline form of quartz, recognised for its distinctive moss-like mineral inclusions. These intricate formations are commonly associated with iron and manganese-bearing minerals, which create branching and landscape-like patterns within the stone.

Despite its name, Moss Agate does not contain actual moss or preserved plant material. Its beautiful botanical appearance is entirely geological.
