Brazilian Smoky Quartz on Custom Stand

A striking Brazilian Smoky Quartz specimen displayed on a custom gold-toned metal stand, weighing approximately 255g and standing around 19cm tall. Beautifully polished to reveal everything happening inside the crystal, this piece combines soft smoky colouring, wonderful transparency and an incredible collection of natural internal formations.

The Quartz has a pale champagne-smoky tone that deepens towards some of the edges, while the clearer areas allow you to look directly into the specimen. Inside are layers of natural fractures, veils and darker mineral inclusions, creating an almost suspended landscape within the crystal.

One of the standout features of this piece is its beautiful internal rainbowing. Several of the natural fracture planes catch the light in vivid flashes of blue, yellow, orange, pink and violet, particularly towards the upper section of the crystal. As the specimen is viewed from different angles, these rainbows appear and disappear amongst the inclusions, making it an especially lovely piece to display somewhere it can interact with changing light.

The irregular polished shape follows the character of the original Quartz rather than turning it into a completely uniform form. Mounted vertically on a custom gold-toned metal stand, the crystal is elevated beautifully and the warm metal complements its natural smoky and champagne colouring while allowing light to travel through the specimen.
