Large Polished Malacholla

A spectacular polished Malacholla display specimen combining the rich greens of Malachite with vivid turquoise-blue Chrysocolla, presented on a black metal display stand.

This piece has incredible patterning across both sides. Deep emerald and forest-green Malachite forms sweeping concentric bands, eyes and botryoidal patterns, while intensely coloured Chrysocolla traces through the formation in bright turquoise and blue-green layers. The result is almost topographical, with every section revealing another pattern.

One side features particularly bold circular Malachite formations surrounded by vivid blue Chrysocolla, while the reverse reveals intricate overlapping bands and flower-like formations. The polished faces bring out the depth and saturation of the colours beautifully while areas of natural texture remain visible around the specimen.

At 413g and approximately 14 x 9cm, this is a substantial statement specimen and an incredible choice for a crystal display, mineral cabinet or collector looking for something genuinely striking.

Malacholla

Malacholla is a trade name commonly used for material containing both Malachite and Chrysocolla, two copper-bearing minerals frequently found associated within copper deposits.

Malachite is recognised for its distinctive green banding and botryoidal formations, while Chrysocolla contributes the vivid turquoise, blue and blue-green colour seen throughout this specimen. When the two occur together, cutting and polishing can reveal extraordinarily intricate natural patterns.
