blue-tara-quartz-cluster-skardu-pakistan
Blue Tara Quartz Cluster | Skardu, Pakistan

A seriously special Blue Tara Quartz cluster from Skardu, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan, weighing 158g and measuring approximately 10cm.

Blue Tara Quartz is an unusual and sought-after form of included Quartz, prized for the extraordinary blue, blue-grey and almost smoky mineral formations visible within otherwise clear Quartz. Material sold under the Blue Tara name is much less commonly encountered than ordinary included Quartz, with Pakistani specimens being particularly unusual on the collector's market.

This piece is a beautiful example. Several naturally terminated Quartz crystals grow together in a dramatic cluster, dominated by a large central point containing an incredible deep blue-grey inclusion. Rather than simply colouring the surface, the darker material appears suspended inside the Quartz, creating distinct layers and phantom-like formations that become more apparent as the specimen is turned in the light.

Smaller Quartz points surround the main crystal alongside areas of natural matrix and further dark mineral inclusions, giving the specimen a complex, almost architectural formation. Some areas are beautifully transparent, allowing you to look directly through the Quartz and into the mineral growth held within it.

A note on Blue Tara Quartz: Blue Tara is a trade name rather than a formally recognised mineral variety, and the mineralogy behind different Blue Tara finds is still discussed within the mineral community. The name has been used for Quartz containing unusual blue to blue-grey mineral inclusions, with different material reported from Brazil and Pakistan. For that reason, we prefer not to assign a specific inclusion mineral to this specimen without laboratory testing.

For collectors, that uncertainty is part of what makes pieces like this so interesting. This isn't simply another Clear Quartz cluster. It is an unusual included specimen from one of the world's most celebrated mineral-producing regions, with each crystal preserving its own completely individual internal landscape.

Mineral: Blue Tara Quartz
Locality: Skardu, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan
Weight: 158g
Size: Approx. 10cm
Formation: Natural cluster

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0954/5796/8461/files/blue-tara-quartz-cluster-skardu-pakistan-158g-01.png?v=1790700279
